Mainstage Productions

Our Mainstage Productions provide actors, both young and old, an opportunity to be on our beautiful stage. Two Mainstage Productions are performed each season - one musical and one non-musical. We welcome actors from all around the theatre community to come and join the RTAA family.

Age ranges vary according to production requirements. Auditions are required. Audition information may change depending on the type of show and parts may be pre-cast at the director's discretion.

The Drowsy Chaperone

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another. With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

Macbeth

Don't miss the exciting opportunity to audition for RTAA's first adult Shakespeare show: Macbeth.
Directed by Michelle Raskey, this Shakespearean tragedy will delve into the questions of destiny, and how fate, time, and personal choices affect it. Ultimately we will put up a show that reveals the truth that we may have more in common with the play's namesake than we care to admit.
