Youth and Little Ones Workshops

The Youth and Little Ones program offers the unique opportunity for every student to participate  in every show, with no double casting. We do not mandate parent volunteer hours or require parents to purchase a certain number of tickets. We focus our musical theatre training by teaching basics of singing, dancing , and acting. Our originally written workshop shows culminate in a fun performance for the community, family and friends.

Little Ones Workshops Ages 4 - 7
Students learn one song and dance routine as well as unison and individual lines. Our dedicated staff use theatre game to teach projection and stage presence. Students participate during tech/performance week to perform as one act of the larger youth show.

Class Times 4:00-5:00 p.m. One day a week
Workshop Fee: $125.00 6 week session
Sibling discount available...call RTAA for details!

Youth Workshops Ages 8 - 15
No lead roles; everyone has lines, several dances and songs to learn. Students experience working with adult "Guest Artists" who serve as mentors, many of whom were former students themselves. Students experience a full "tech week" with lights, live musicians, costumes and props, which starts the Sunday before the show. And of course, the SHOWS!

Class Times: 5:00 - 8:00 One day a week
Workshop Fee: $200.00 7 week session
Sibling discount available...call RTAA for details!

Dragon the Line

The fun starts when Buffy leaves Puff,  the dragon, home to guard the eggs. Between his mother in law's phone calls, the thieving leprechauns, the bumbling treasure trolls, and the hatching eggs, Puff finds out how hard it is to be a dad. This fast paced, rollicking show is almost more fun for the actors than the audience! Complete with silly hatchlings who think everyone is their Mommy,  magical leprechauns (complete with Irish accents), or  truly clueless treasureless trolls.

But the nasty Son of Sam and his six sons attempt to thwart the effort of a truly international cast in winning the ice cream cook-off grand prize cruise. Fun families like the Itialian Lucia family, the French/Canadian Lumberjacks and the shouting Childs family of England get everyone involved in a crazy food fight that leaves everyone asking, "Is all that's Swedish Sweet"?

Spring 2012 Masters - Twelfth Night

Midsummer Nights Dream Poster

Twelfth Night tells the adventurous story of two twins, Sebastian and his sister Viola, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola is saved by the ships captain, but thinking her brother has drowned at sea, disguises herself as a young man, Cesario, in order to gain employment as a page for Duke Orsino. The Duke is a hopeless romantic in love with Lady Olivia who is in mourning for her dead brother and refuses the Duke's advances. Meanwhile Viola, disguised as Cesario, falls in love with the Duke, who is in love with Lady Olivia. Confused yet? Well, just wait until Lady Olivia falls in love with "Cesario" and let the fun and craziness begin! Add into the mix the silly Sir Toby Belch and Sir Andrew Aguecheek and you have the makings of one of Shakespeare's funniest comedies! Plus, what would Shakespeare at RTAA be without a crazy setting? Michelle Raskey and Madelyne Wright have chosen the wild west (didn't you know they were frequented by ship wrecks?). This show is going to be so much fun!!

Directed by Michelle Raskey, this is a show you don't want to miss!
